Description
Seledruff Shampoo (containing 2.5% Selenium Sulfide) is a veterinary-grade medicated shampoo primarily used to treat canine dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, and mild to moderate fungal or bacterial skin infections in dogs. It acts as a keratolytic and degreasing agent to soothe itching, regulate skin oils, and remove flaky skin.
Common Veterinary Uses
- Seborrhea: Treats both Seborrhea sicca (dry, scaly, dandruff-like skin) and Seborrhea oleosa (greasy, waxy, and smelly skin).
- Fungal Infections: Helps manage yeast infections like Malassezia dermatitis and ringworm.
- Skin Scaling: Reduces crusty build-up and excessive shedding of dead epidermal skin layers.
Application & Safety Guidelines
- Directions: Wet the dog’s coat thoroughly, apply the shampoo, and massage it into a lather.
- Contact Time: Allow the lather to sit on the skin for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing completely.
- Precautions: Avoid contact with the eyes and ears. It is meant exclusively for external use in dogs and is generally not recommended for cats unless explicitly directed by a veterinarian.
