SUCRALPET-O SYRUP

Description

Sihil Sucralpet is a veterinary-grade oral suspension manufactured by Sihil Animal Health. It is primarily used to treat and prevent gastrointestinal ulcers, gastritis, and acid reflux in dogs and cats. The active ingredient is sucralfate, which binds to proteins on inflamed or ulcerated tissue to form a protective barrier.

How it Works

When exposed to stomach acid, the sucralfate in the suspension reacts to form a thick, paste-like substance. This coats the damaged areas in the stomach and esophagus, shielding them from stomach acid, pepsin, and bile salts while promoting natural healing.

Administration & Dosage

• Formulation: Typically supplied in 200 mL bottles, where each 5 mL contains 500 mg of Sucralfate.
• Timing: For maximum efficacy, it should be given on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before meals.
• Spacing with other drugs: If you are giving your pet other medications (like antacids or antibiotics), you should typically wait about 2 hours after giving Sucralfate, as it can interfere with the absorption of other drugs
