Description
Cortavance is a veterinary topical spray used to treat itching and inflammation associated with skin disorders (such as allergic or atopic dermatitis, hotspots, and rashes) in dogs and cats. It works by rapidly penetrating the skin to provide localized, non-greasy relief without causing severe side effects common with oral steroids.
Ingredients
- Active Ingredient: Hydrocortisone Aceponate (0.584 mg/ml)
- Category: It is a potent diester-class topical corticosteroid that targets inflammation directly in the skin while minimizing systemic absorption.
Primary Uses
- Relieves severe scratching, redness, and swelling.
- Manages acute skin flares and chronic allergic dermatitis.
- Soothes localized inflammatory skin lesions (hotspots, contact allergies).
How to UseÂ
- Application: Spray directly onto the affected skin areas from a distance of about 10 cm.
- Standard Dose: The general recommendation is 2 pump activations per 10 cm × 10 cm area of skin.
- Duration: Usually administered once daily for 7 consecutive days, but can be extended under veterinary guidance for up to 14–28 days for chronic atopic dermatitis.
- No Rubbing Required: The spray is volatile, absorbs rapidly, and does not need to be massaged in. Avoid contact with the pet’s eyes
