Azimycine Tablet

Corise Azimycine is a veterinary-grade broad-spectrum antibiotic manufactured by Corise Healthcare for use in dogs, cats, and birds.

Active Ingredients

• Azithromycin: A semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic (derived from erythromycin) that works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
• Available Strengths: Film-coated tablets contain either 250 mg or 500 mg of azithromycin per tablet (along with quantum sufficient/q.s. excipients).

Common Uses & Indications

Azimycine is prescribed to treat various bacterial, rickettsial, and parasitic infections, including:

• Respiratory Infections: Bronchitis and pneumonia
• Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Wounds and localized inflammation
• Ear and Urinary Tract Infections: Otitis and urogenital tract issues
• Parasitic & Tick-Borne Infections: Canine babesiosis (often paired with atovaquone like Vetdox AQ), giardiasis, and cytauxzoonosis
• Other Conditions: Chlamydial conjunctivitis, Helicobacter infections, and Rhodococcus infections

Dosage

• Dogs and Cats: Typically 5 to 10 mg/kg of body weight given orally every 24 hours.
• Birds: Typically 10 to 40 mg/kg given orally or in water every 24 to 48 hours.
