Clivet Injection

Clivet Injection is a veterinary antibiotic manufactured by Corise Healthcare used to treat anaerobic and certain gram-positive bacterial infections, bone disorders, dental conditions, and tick-borne diseases in animals such as dogs, cats, and large livestock.

Ingredients

• Active Ingredient: Clindamycin (300 mg per 2 ml, or 600 mg per 4 ml as clindamycin phosphate)
• Drug Class: Lincosamide antibiotic

Usage & Indications

• Osteomyelitis: Treated for bone and joint infections (commonly at 11 mg/kg BID or daily directions).
• Dental and Oral Infections: Effective against periodontal disease, gum infections, and oral abscesses caused by anaerobic bacteria.
• Skin Infections: Used for pyoderma and deep wound or ear infections (typically 5.5–11 mg/kg BID).
• Babesiosis: Used as part of protocols for protozoal infections like Babesia (at approximately 25 mg/kg).
• Administration: Given via intramuscular (IM) or slow intravenous (IV) injection under the guidance of a licensed veterinarian.
