Petben Shampoo

Petben shampoo is a medicated veterinary shampoo containing Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5%). It is primarily used to treat bacterial skin infections, seborrhea (greasy/flaky skin), Demodex mange, and hair follicle inflammation in dogs and cats.

Key Uses and Benefits

• Bacterial Infections: Helps treat superficial to deep pyoderma (bacterial skin infections) and folliculitis.
• Seborrhea & Greasy Skin: Acts as an excellent degreaser to manage seborrheic dermatitis, removing excess oils, dirt, and dead skin cells.
• Demodex Mange: Aids in flushing hair follicles where mites burrow, making it highly effective when used before antiparasitic treatments like Amitraz.
• Acne: Aids in treating acne on the chin or face in both cats and dogs.
• Follicular Flushing: Cleans deep into hair follicles to remove scales, crusts, and secretions

How to Use

1. Preparation: Wet your pet’s coat thoroughly using lukewarm water.
2. Application: Apply enough shampoo to create a rich lather and massage it gently all over the coat, focusing on the affected areas.
3. Contact Time: Leave the shampoo on for 5 to 10 minutes to allow the Benzoyl Peroxide to penetrate the skin and hair follicles.
4. Rinse: Rinse the coat completely with clean water until all shampoo residue is gone.

• Prescription Use: It is a medicated product; it is best to consult your veterinarian for proper diagnosis and application frequency (often recommended 1–3 times a week).
• External Use Only: Avoid contact with your pet’s eyes, ears, and mucous membranes.
